  1.                     Equipment and Software Requirements

  4.        To use PC PURSUIT, all you need are --
  5.  
  6.        - a telephone line
  7.        - a modem - 300 or 1200 bps
  8.        - a terminal or a PC with asynchronous communications software
  9.  
  10.        PARAMETERS:
  11.        -----------
  12.        Communication parameters for your hardware should be set-up
  13.        consistent with the PC or BBS or host computer you wish to dial.
  14.  
  15.        FILE TRANSFERS:
  16.        ---------------
  17.        Most transfer protocols are compatible with PC PURSUIT.
  18.        Across TELENET'S Public Data Network, PC PURSUIT transmits
  19.        data utilizing 8 bit transparency. Due to XMODEM'S use of
  20.        single block by block acknowledgement of data sent, XMODEM
  21.        file transfers can take slightly longer. There are
  22.        however, more efficent transfer protocols such as KERMIT,
  23.        SUPER KERMIT and YMODEM.

  25.        You can now dial into Telenet as 7-E-1 or 8-N-1.  If you dial
  26.        in at 7-E-1, you can switch your parameters to 8-N-1 with
  27.        your software to prepare for a file transfer.  Or, dial
  28.        Telenet at 8-N-1 to begin with, using these steps --

  30.        1) Dial your Telenet local access number with your settings
  31.           at 8-N-1.

  33.        2) Enter  (cr) D (cr)

  35.        3) At "Terminal = ", enter  D1 (cr)
